Stop callin’, stop callin’,
I don’t wanna think anymore!
I left my head and my heart on the dance floor.

Greece vs German

This is not something between people of two countries but when a country support those things it’s really pity. Even if you believe in something there is always better way to tell it

I wonder…………………

Why people judge when they don’t know something ah? It is something I can’t stand! They show and tell things for someone or something and they tell lies……….Pity

The Picture of Dorian Gray Book Vs Dorian Gray Film

February 20, 2010

One of my favourite book is Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray. When I learned about Oliver Parker’s film Dorian Gray and the fact that I knew how good were¬† An Ideal Husband (1999) The Importance of Being Earnest (2002) by him I expected something at least good. The second thing that made me optimistic was that Colin Firth had had the role of Lord HenryWotton. Colin Firth is an extremely good actor for me and he has the aura of a classic english man!!My doubts began when I learned that the role of Dorian Gray had taken Ben Barnes. For me he is a really good actor without have seen many things from him but I had a good opinion for him! The problem was that he was not what I imagined of Dorian. Not only because he has black-hair and he is not blonde but he is not that beautiful but without opinion guy that Dorian is(for me). Dorian from the begining of the book has not a very own opinion but he borrow things and thoughts from the artist Basil Hallward even if he has some secret thoughts and passions he never reveals. And then here he comes Lord Henry and this thoughts are ucovered! But I don’t think that Ben Barnes is the actor who can show this thing even if he is a very good actor. But what annoys me more in this film is the differences in plot. Why those changes? I really can not understand it. There is an old film about this book The Picture of Dorian Gray (1945 film) which I think was better. Of course I could not understand this “new” idea of Lord’s daughter. In conclusion I think there were a little good choices for such a great book who gives one critique of Victorian culture. I believe that directors and all the people who makes movies must have the sense tha they present a book from classic literature and those books could not be touched and changed like that.
